I went to the doctor and was prescribed a medication on a trial basis for 8
days. There’s no generic for this medication. When I went to pay for it I
got the sticker shock of my life because these 8 pills cost me a $45 copay
regardless of whether it’s an 8 day supply or a 30-day supply (anything up
to 30 days is $45, anything from there up to 90 days is $90 which saves me
the cost of a copay, but is still pricey).
They don’t pro-rate you for the medication and you can’t appeal for a
refund because you only got a limited supply.
